The kalimba, also known as a finger harp, originates from Africa. A type of lamellophone, sound waves travel from the metal tines and vibrate through the solid wood, producing a tranquil bell-like tone when played.
We did our local tree kalimba in a flat block, instead of a resonance box, giving it a softer tone. You can amplify its volume by playing it over any hollow structure.
Ours feature 17 keys and comes with a tuning rod. Coated in clear Rubio Monocoat–an environmentally responsible, VOC-free wood finish.
Material
Raintree, African Mahogany (Khaya) , Angsana
Dimension
180(L) x 111(W) x 21(H)mm
